Slaters Bridge Walk

Slaters Walk Joiner is a little self indulgent, which I suppose all art an artist produces could be termed as. But this piece is definitely self indulgent in that I shot this joiner purely because I love the lakes and I love this view, and I wanted a lovely reminder of it.
The path which can be seen to the right of the piece was an old trail which packhorses would have used as they were either descending down from the slate mines fully laden, or ascending as they made their way up for another back breaking load of slate.
Early in the morning this area is serene in it's peacefulness and tranquility, which is a far cry from many of my other joiners which are often focused in and around cities...probably why I like this one so much :)
When viewing this joiner my hope is that some of the wintery stillness seeps out, that in an otherwise all too hectic world the viewer can find a moments peace and a moment to simply 'be'.

The Unseen collaborator

Every Joiner begins in silence, then finds its structure through its unseen collaborator—music. The tempo sets the pace of assembly; melodies suggest movement and balance. Music shapes the emotional architecture of each piece, guiding where energy builds and where calm returns. To truly experience a Joiner, it should be viewed while listening to the music that shaped it. Only then does the visual rhythm align with the heartbeat, the beat, it was born from.

Each Joiner is created but not yet printed.

This is intentional. Printing every piece in advance would compromise the freedom each collector deserves. By commissioning a Joiner at the moment of purchase, you decide its scale and presence—tailored precisely to your space and vision. Every print is then produced to museum-grade archival standards, ensuring permanence, precision, and exclusivity.
